Driver Profile - ta4brown

What personal reasons do you have for doing this?
ta4brown: I enjoy the looks on peoples faces. The import scene as a whole and the amount of people that have the same love and passion for the import scene.

Why did you choose THIS vehicle to modify?
ta4brown: It has a very nice platform to build from. Many different mods and I truly enjoy the body style of this model.

How did you get involved in competitions/shows?
ta4brown: I've never really entered any car shows because I feel that I am not ready for competition until I feel that I am ready. I don't want to enter any competition half-assed. I want to leave a lasting impression.

How did you get involved in racing?
ta4brown: I enjoy the competetion. We has a local track where I was stationed at in Fort Bragg, NC. It brought out many people to a location for the same goals(being a winner)

Is this the first vehicle that you have modified?
ta4brown: Yes. This is the first vehicle that I have ever purchased. It holds a special place in my heart, but it won't be the last vehicle I modify.

Is this the first vehicle that you have raced?
ta4brown: Yes, only at the track. Gotta stay safe first.

Who is/are your current car clubs/teams/speed shop?
ta4brown: Currently, I am not affiliated with any car clubs. I am living overseas in Italy and cannot represent any car clubs to it's fullest potential if I am overseas instead of the states.

Who are your current sponsors?
ta4brown: None.

What is your advice for those who want to get started in import modification or competing?
ta4brown: Look for a car that truly appeals to you and your presonality. Once you find that, the sky's the limit.

What is your advice for those who want to get started in racing?
ta4brown: Make sure that you way your options. Racing consists of many parts and must have funding in order to prevent any major mechanical problems.

Is this vehicle your daily driver?
ta4brown: Yes, this is my daily driver.

If so, how often do you get undue attention from law enforcement?
ta4brown: Because of the color and flashiness of the ride, it gets many looks from both law enforcement. I wouldn't change it for the world.

What was your biggest mistake when you began modifying your vehicle?
ta4brown: I wanted to do everything at once. It's safer to make a plan and stick to it. Choose what is more important, and build that entire platform before moving to something else.

What do you think makes your vehicle special?
ta4brown: The color, driver, and of course the childhood super-hero (Mighty Mouse) on the hood.

Any other comments or shout-outs?
ta4brown: I would like to thank everyone that has helped me along the way. I couldn't have done any of this without their craftsmanship and the love and support of my beautiful wife, Aireen.

Include additional information you would like for others to know about you.
ta4brown: I am truly a fan and supporter of the import scene and would like to receive any comments or information about events, shows, sponsorships that will help to further the ideas and publicity of the import scene and culture. Thanks.

Pneumatic Tools in the Shop

This is a basic primer on using your pneumatic tools safely while working on your car.
Pneumatic tools are powered or sourced by compressed air. Compressed air is what you use to fill your tires or to paint your ride with a paint gun.
You have to be careful with it, though. You should always wear safety glasses or a face shield. Before you turn on your pneumatic tool, make sure all of your hoses are connected securely. An out of control hose can be not only painful, but very dangerous.
Make sure you have a decent grip on it before you turn it on AND before you turn it off. Don't use compressed air to 'dust off' you skin or clothes.
You should not even use it to clean the floor. It's too easy for dirt, metal, and other objects to find their way to your skin or your car's paint job. Make sure to only use your pneumatic tools at pressures that its manufacturer recommends. Safe blowing!
